The Berg Apartments were built in 1916 by Gus Berg. Gus was a resident of the Wedge neighborhood and lived at 520 South Sheridan Avenue. Mr. Berg, born in Sweden, had lived in Tacoma since 1888.

The Berg Apartments were built in 1916 by Gus Berg. Gus was a resident of the Wedge neighborhood and lived at 520 South Sheridan Avenue. Mr. Berg, born in Sweden, had lived in Tacoma since 1888. He financed and operated several apartment buildings including the Kelly Arms and the Bergonia (1016 South 8th). Mrs. Amanda B. Zachary purchased the 18-unit building in 1926.
