The unique looking gas station was owned and operated by Atlantic Refining Company, a natural petroleum retailer. According to the National Register of Historic Places nomination form for the Atlantic Gas Station, the building stands as a testament to architectural style of the 1920s and 1930s. It is a one-story masonry structure and models the Mediterranean Revival style. It was designed by prominent Miami architect E. A. Ehmann. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
