Founded in 1977, the Humboldt Maritime Museum is located in Samoa, California. Its mission is to preserve, interpret and collect artifacts related to the maritime history of California's North Coast as well as to educate the public about that history through its exhibits and tours. The museum houses 20,000 artifacts, photographs, art and artifacts; many of these items have been donated. It also offers cruises on a 1910 vessel named Madaket which can hold up to 42 people. The museum is currently restoring a fishing vessel named Stephanie (after the builder's daughter) built in 1912.

The Humboldt Maritime Museum offers a standard tour that lasts about 45 minutes.
