Peter LaTourette's Cold Spring Farm
Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
Peter LaTourette, one of Vestal's earliest pioneers, built the farm between 1802 and 1816. A hollowed out wooden log delivered spring water to the house leading to the locally known name, Cold Spring Farm. Once part of a farm advertised in 1831 as one the the best in Broome County, for many years it was the home of George DuBois. It has been recognized by the Preservation Association of the Southern Tier (PAST) for excellence in restoration. The current owners carefully restored damage from the flood of 2011.
