Beloit Street

Beloit Street is the focus for commercial businesses in Orfordville. There was once a newspaper headquarters here for the Orfordville-Footville News. The O'Rourke Hotel was also on this block which was perfect for travelers coming from the train depot. Ezra Foot's daughter, Mrs. Henry Egerton also lived on this block. Ezra Foot is responsible for the settlement of Footville and he anticipated the railroad coming through the area so he quickly sought to purchase cheap farm land and then sold it back to the railroad for a profit.
