Text-to-speech Audio
The Coon Creek Science Center in Adamsville, Tennessee is located on one of the most important fossil sites in North America. The fossils found here date back to the Upper Cretaceous period (around 70 million years ago), when the Gulf of Mexico covered much of present day southern and central United States. Specimens found here include marine shells and vertebrate fossils. Visitors are allowed to excavate and take home fossils they discover. Visitors can also rent cabins to stay overnight. Please note that the museum only allows group visits.
