On June 11, 1905, the 101 Ranch (named for the brand they placed on their cattle) presented an outdoor rodeo and Old West performance that attracted an audience estimated at 75,000. The ranch continued to hold annual Wild West shows as well as circuses with exotic animals. The 101 Ranch grew to over 100,000 acres and was also home to a restaurant, hotel, general store, factory, and oil drilling business. Each of these businesses suffered during the Great Depression
