Six Nations Indian Museum
Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
Located in Onchiota, New York, the Six Nations Indian Museum features over 3,000 objects—pre and post European contact—and artwork representing the six Indian cultures that comprise the Iroquois Nations Confederacy (the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscora). Other tribes are represented as well. The museum opened in 1954 and was later expanded. The architecture mimics a traditional Six Nation bark house.
