Located on the Vassar College campus, the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center is one of the best teaching art museums in the country. Its contains 19,000 works of art range from ancient to contemporary art. Works include paintings, sculptures, prints, ceramics, photographs and other types. Highlights include Old Master prints, Hudson River School paintings, and American and European 20th century paintings. The museum was founded in 1864 and was included in the school's original plan, the first one to do so. The current building was constructed in 1993.
