A National Historic Landmark since 2012, the Schaeffer House is a historic German structure built around 1736 and later expanded in 1777. It is unique in that it was used for both domestic and manufacturing purposes (whiskey was made here), which was a common practice in Europe. Today, is one of three museums that are a part of Historic Schaefferstown, which celebrates German culture and history.
