Originally founded in 1885 as the “Barrington Historic Antiquarian Society," the Barrington Historical Society's mission is the stewardship and study of buildings, artifacts, and historical records pertaining to the town of Barrington, Rhode Island. The society acts as a central resource for individuals interested in the history of Barrington.
In addition to collecting artifacts, books, documents, and photographs, the Barrington Historical Society also has an old-house plague program, gives out the yearly Elizabeth Sargent Warren Award, and hold various exhibitions and events throughout the year.
