The Tellus Science Museum is a world-class science museum featuring 120,000 square feet of exhibit space. Its four main exhibit areas focus on minerals, fossils, science in motion (i.e., planes, automobiles and spaceflight), and a children's exhibit. The museum features many interesting objects on display. Some of these are hundreds of gems, gold and minerals found in Georgia; an 80 foot long apatosaurus dinosaur; a replica Wright Brother's flyer; and a replica of the Apollo 1 space capsule. There is also a 120 seat planetarium and an observatory that contains a 20 inch telescope (visitors can take a tour of the observatory during special events).
