The New Bedford Museum of Glass was established in 1993 and features thousands of artwork work spanning 3,000 years, from ancient to contemporary, with an emphasis on glasswork made in New Bedford in the 1800s. Interesting highlights include Crown Milano, Royal Flemish, Burmese and Lava glassworks. The museum also houses brown and pressed tableware, cut glass, paper weights, cut plates, as well as antique tools, molds, and a six foot tall glass press. The museum's library houses 8,000 volumes in ten languages and holds letters from President Grover Cleveland and Queen Victoria.
