Text-to-speech Audio
Here the Russian revolutionary democrat Alexander Herzen moved his publishing operation Free Russian Press in 1854. It operated out of here until 1856, an emigré publishing operation. It published two important titles: the almanac _Poliarnaia zvezda_ (_The Polar Star_, 1855-62 and 1869) and the journal _Kolokol_ (_The Bell_, 1857-67). These included pieces written by Michelet, Mazzini, and Proudhon and a number of Russians.
