Clausen Memorial Museum

Founded in 1968, the Clausen Memorial Museum serves as Petersburg's local history museum. It houses around 5,000 artifacts (ranging from prehistoric times to the present), 45,000 photographs, and 200 archive collections. Fishing in this region has been an important industry for along time and this is reflected in the museum's collections and exhibits. Items housed in the collection include woodworking tools, domestic items, and early 20th century artifacts. The history of local businesses and societies is also covered in the museum. The original lens from the Cape Decision Light Station is another highlight of the museum.
