The museum received the Rockton and Rion Railway (i.e., train tracks amounting to 11.5 miles) in 1983 and renamed it the Rockton, Rion, and Western Railroad. This donation enabled the museum to offer its train rides. The museum wants to expand by building a maintenance shop, offering educational train excursions, and displaying more rolling stock, among other goals.
