Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
Reliance Fire Museum, founded in 1994 by Douglas Klink Jr., restores, preserves and displays fire fighting trucks and other equipment. Its world class collection is comprised of 18 apparatus (the oldest on dates to 1901), most of which are still in working order and can often be seen driving around town to keep them in shape. The museum offers tours and open houses, during which visitors can see the restoration shop which also restores trucks from around the country that are then returned.

As a testament to the dedication and skill of the restorers at the museum, one of the trucks—a 1967 Snorkel—was called on in 2009 to help put out a fire that destroyed an old mall.
