Explore the Nebraska's Birthplace! The Sarpy County Museum serves as the Smithsonian for Sarpy County. The museum safeguards the history of Bellevue, Gretna La Vista, Papillion, Springfield, and Offutt AFB. Using artifacts, photographs, and documents, the stories of the people on prairie from the days of the Nebraska Territory right through today's urban sprawl are shared in an easy to view exhibit space. History marches forward through the the years of the fur trade and pioneers, to the Martin Bomber Plant and Strategic Air Command at Offutt Air Force Base. A tour of the museum is a walk through history.

The Sarpy County Historical Society and Museum has served the community since its founding in 1934. Its mission is to protect, preserve, and promote, the rich history of Sarpy County, its communities, and their people. It is always seeking further knowledge and artifacts to accomplish that mission.
