La Vue Premiere, by artist William P. Hopen, was unveiled in October 1990 during the City's Bicentennial. The statue symbolizes the unconquerable spirit of the first settlers. Dan Quayle, former Vice President, and George Voinovich, former Governor of Ohio, were the guests of honor for the unveiling.

This monument celebrates the spirit of the French settlers who arrived in this area in the late 1700s early 1800s. It was designed by artist William P. Hopen and dedicated in 1990.
