Text-to-speech Audio
Located in a historic building that dates back to 1898, the Emporium includes two expansive art galleries, artist studios, and cultural offices. The organization sponsors events and exhibitions that celebrate the culture and art of East Tennessee. The Emporium is located in a building in the Gay Street Historic District that has served as a furniture factory, warehouse, textile plant, and several other purposes prior to 2004 when work began to renovate and convert the building for use as art galleries and performance space.
