One of few military aviation museums located on a active airfield, the Combat Air Museum is dedicated to the preservation of historical military aircraft and honoring the men and women who served in the armed forces. The museum was founded in 1977 as part of another museum but changed its name to the current one and moved to this location in 1979. In all, 38 aircraft are on display, including helicopters and seven WWII replica aircraft. Other items include uniforms, engines, weapons, photographs, and memorabilia. There is also a growing art collection.
