Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve was dedicated on February 17, 1982. The forty-one-acre woodland offers two miles of hiking trails and the opportunity to see a variety of flora (over 180 species of trees, shrubs, and flowers) and fauna (especially birds and butterflies). The property is managed by the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission and the Louisville Nature Center.
