Pioneer Village, Corsicana

Located in Jester Park, Pioneer Village Park is a recreated historical village, giving visitors a sense as to what life was like for Corsicana's early settlers. The village features historic structures as well as countless heirlooms and artifacts donated by locals. A recent acquisition was a small gas station complete with authentic pumps. The park is operated by the Navarro County Historical Society, which was established in 1956. A statue of and a museum dedicated to country music legend Lefty Frizzell, who was born here in Corsicana in 1928, are also at the village.

Jester Park was once the location of the "watering hole" where early pioneers would form a circle with their wagons to protect them from attacks by indigenous tribes. The Lefty Frizzell Museum includes exhibits about each of the area Texas country musicians that had influential careers.
