Barneberg House

Former home of John W. Barneberg, who came to S.L.O. in 1860s as farmworker and became a prominent oilman (Obispo Oil, Huasna Oil among others) and President of the Commercial Bank in 1907. Home built in 1914 is Prairie style with Neo-Georgian overtones, one of few residences in early 1900s designed by an architect (Charles McKensie).
