Cedar Hill Cemetery
Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
The original name of this burial ground was Green Hill Cemetery; 25 acres were set aside in 1802 for an urban cemetery. The nature of the gravestones and the design of the grounds are in keeping with the Rural Cemetery Movement which sought to romanticize deathscapes by crafting beautiful landscapes. There are multiple mausoleums and a World War I memorial.
