The Hamburg Elementary School built in 1921, was a once operational school building located in the upper part of town, housing grades K-5 in the closer proximity. The Hamburg School District is known as the largest school district in Berks County, spanning 103 square miles. In 2008, the Hamburg Elementary School building was shut down, along with three other elementary buildings, to come together to form one big elementary in Tilden.
