Constructed in 1924 as serving as the Catawba County Courthouse for many years, this historic building is now the home of the History Museum of Catawba County. Highlights of the museum include uniforms and weapons related to military history, the collection of alkaline-glazed stoneware, local art and historic furnishings and clothing, pottery, a racecar from the 1930s and a gallery of photographs and artifacts related to the Hickory Motor Speedway and the connection between auto racing and bootlegging. The Renaissance Revival style. Indiana limestone and granite veneered structure was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
