For 121 years, Colorado Fuel and Iron Company was a driving force in the development of the West, with the largest steel mill west of the Mississippi River. The Steelworks Museum of Industry and Culture preserves and shared the rich history of steel production, iron and coal mining. Social history is a leading feature of the museum, with exhibits about labor relations, land and water use, gender, and the experience of immigrants.
