Trinity High School was opened in 1925. Before becoming a public school, the 1857-built Italianate-style private home of William Wrenshall Smith was turned into Trinity Hall Academy, a military school. The original mansion is still part of the much expanded high school to this date. Today, Trinity High School has approximately 1,300 students enrolled in grades 9-12.
