John's River offers whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling. The area from Route 1328 to Route 1438, about 6.5 miles long, has been designated by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. Camping can be found nearby. Temperatures typically run in the 70s. Once the sun dips it can drop to the 50s. In the winter, daylight highs are in the 40s, by nightfall they can be in the 10s.
