The Grandfather Mountain Nature Museum is a natural history museum located in Grandfather Mountain State Park near Linville, North Carolina. The museum features exhibits about birds, early explorers to the area like Daniel Boone, Native American artifacts, and flower, mushroom and plant wax replicas made by artist Paul Manchard. The museum also features a large gem and mineral collection. Highlights include Tar Heel gold specimens, emeralds and rubies found in the state, and the largest amethyst found in North America.
