This stately antebellum plantation home was built for one of the regions most wealthy and influential families in the 1830s. William Washington Hunter was a merchant, planter, and real estate investor. Hunter's mansion may have been the headquarters of the Union Army in the spring of 1862. The state of Missouri has restored the main house to match its original grandeur
