This historic home was built in the 1830s and is best known as the place where the 1989 movie "Steel Magnolia" was filed. In that movie, this was the home of the Eatenton family. The movie was one of the best-known hits of the late 1980s and featured Julia Roberts, Sally Field, and Dolly Parton. The film also used students of the Louisiana School, located just down the road from the home. Natchitoches welcomed a whole host of visitors after the film's shooting, and in 2014 the home was opened as a bed and breakfast.
