This simple two-story building was once the home of the Fort Worth chapter of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows, which was a fraternal organization established in 1843 primarily for African-American men. The chapter built Lodge No. 2144, as it was called, in 1926 and remained here until 1937 when they disbanded. The chapter itself was founded in 1880. A number of activities took place at the lodge including seminars and professional business training sessions. The lodge was part of a vibrant African-American business district in the city. Unfortunately, more information about the chapter or the building is not readily available.

The marker is affixed to the east wall of the building along Grove Street.
