Mardi Gras Museum of Imperial Calcasieu

Lake Charles's Mardi Gras Museum features floats and the world's largest display of Mardi Gras costumes. Highlights of the museum include the animated mannequins that tell the story of Mardi Gras. Children especially enjoy the exhibit on King Cakes, costume making, and the talking animated chickens that are running for their lives in hopes of avoiding become part of the festivities that include the region's favorite dish-gumbo.
