John L. Young, Corporal, Co. B, 15th New Jersey. Enlisted July 28, 1862 and mustered in August 25, 1862. Killed in action May 12, 1864 at the Battle of Spotsylvania. 18 year old John was serving as color corporal when he was severely wounded. He managed to crawl behind a log and died with “his hands clasped in supplication.”
