The wax statue has been placed near the statue of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, it took Susanta Roy the famous sculptor three months to make Dhoni's statue.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (born 7 July 1981), commonly known as MS Dhoni, is an Indian international cricketer who captained the Indian National Team in limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2016 and in Test Cricket from 2008 to 2014. He is the only captain in the history of Cricket to win all ICC trophies. Under his captaincy, India won the 2007 ICC World T20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. A right-handed middle-order batsman and wicketkeeper, Dhoni is one of the highest run scorers in One Day Internationals (ODIs) with more than 10,000 runs scored and is considered an effective "finisher" in limited-overs formats. He is also regarded by some as one of the best wicket-keepers and captains in modern limited-overs international cricket.
Founder and director of the wax museum Anup Srivastav said that the aim of the museum is to inspire visitors as well as entertain them. The statues which are being placed at the museum are not just restricted to the glamour industry. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is famous for his helicopter shot and wicket keeping. The statue at the museum depicts his wicket keeping look. Srivastav further elaborated that the museum department conducted a poll the year before to choose between former Indian cricket team captain M.S.Dhoni or present Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli for the statue at the wax museum. More people voted for Dhoni so the museum authorities decided on making a wax statue of him and unveiling it at the second anniversary of the museum.
The height of Dhoni's wax statue is 5 feet 9 inches and it weighs around 56 kg. The surrounding looks like the Wankhede stadium of Mumbai.Another special attraction point of the museum is the Sheesh Mahal. Famous artisans of India have made it using more than 2.5 million pieces of glass.
