Located on the northwest corner of the Georgia State Capitol, the Replica of the Statue of Liberty is part of the Statue of Liberty Replicas series by the Boy Scouts of America. There are over 200 replicas in 39 states that were dedicated in the 1950s. The replica statues were erected to celebrate Scouting's theme on the 40th anniversary: "Strengthen the Arm of Liberty." Each statue is about 8 1/2 feet tall without its base, cased in sheet copper, and weighs about 290 pounds.

The Replica of the Statue of Liberty in Atlanta is an exact replica of the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island, New York. The original Statue of Liberty is copper-clad and was dedicated on October 28, 1886 after being given to the United States from France. The Statue of Liberty was sculpted by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi.
