From Quindaro to Kaw's Point Park, this trail includes landmarks and stories about dozens of people who made history in Kansas City, Kansas. The tour starts in Quindaro with stops and stories that share the legacy of a town built around the Wyandot Nation that was later home to abolitionists and freedom seekers. Uncover hidden designs etched into the bluffs along the river and stitched into quilts as codes for those traveling the Underground Railroad. Take in the sights, sounds, and food of the hometown of legendary African Americans, including jazz legend Charlie Parker. And connect to a community whose future is defined by its culture as you work your way through each neighborhood. The tour concludes at Kaw's Point Park where Lewis, Clark, and York’s expedition first arrived at land that would one day be part of Kansas City, Kansas.
