Tour the Holbrook-Ross Historic District and hear stories about the residents of Danville Virginia's first neighborhood for African-American professionals. By the early 1900s, Holbrook Street had become Danville's foremost African-American residential address. This easy 60-minute walk leads to the site of the first public school for African Americans in the 1870s; a tourist home listed in "The Negro Motorist Green Book," the house where the Civil Rights movement was nurtured in 1960, plus more.
