William Crawford created Balsahgray Avenue, the main thoroughfare from Dumbarton Road to the north. The start of this magnificent avenue was taken away to form the approach road to the Clyde Tunnel, Balsahgray Avenue now starts at the northerly corner of Victoria Park and runs up to Crow Road. From the hump backed bridge you can see the 4 lanes of traffic going up what was once a peaceful avenue
Balshagray had many large houses including Oswald Villa (built for the minister of Whiteinch Free Church) and Northfield Villa (manse for Partick High Free Church)
