In downtown Little Rock, AR sits a vibrant market district right on the river on President Clinton Ave. It is located in the oldest area of the city, the Quapaw Quarter. The area takes up 10 city blocks and it houses a farmer’s market, local specialty vendors, many restaurants and food vendors, and an amphitheater. It is considered the cultural center of the city. It is open Monday-Saturday from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

The River Market was once a very desolate area that was littered with condemned buildings and vacant properties. In the early 1990s it was evident that revitalization of the area was badly needed. A $300 million dollar project was put in place that would overhaul and connect the scenic area to historic attractions are located there. The Central Arkansas Library, Riverfront Park, and the Clinton Presidential Library are all within walking distance of the market. This area is one of the many examples Little Rock has completed showing their commitment to the revitalization of the community.
