History Colorado Center is a museum and civic hub where Colorado’s past meets the present and shapes its future. It is designed to provide exhibits and programming that offer a unique and rich experience for visitors. The key is a blend of technology, media, environments and artifacts. The high-tech, hands-on exhibits began opening in 2012 and have since opened in phases. They are based on three broad themes – Dreams and Aspirations, Enduring Communities, and People and the Environment.
Combined, these interactive exhibits tell the story of Colorado and its people. The events and people that shaped the state are brought to life with unique activities and exhibits. Many of the temporary exhibits offer the same depth of experience.
The Center is located in Denver’s Golden Triangle Museum District near several other key visitor attractions and restaurants. The bright and welcoming building, designed by Tryba Architects, boasts LEED Gold Certification, utilized a variety of recycled and Colorado materials.
The museum also has a cafe and gift shop.Sources
