Housed on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ, The Bruce Springsteen Special Collection comprises nearly 20,000 items from 47 countries that range from books and concert memorabilia to articles and promotional materials.
The Belmar Public Library was initiated by a group of women in the area who wanted to provide an outlet for nearby people to acquire information and meet for activities in 1911. The library moved locations twice before settling down in its space in 1914 on 10th avenue and E Street. It is known for its colonial architecture styled by Edward Tilton, and is one of the original Carnegie Libraries in New Jersey. Aside from drawing people in with its book collections and activities, the library is also a tourist attraction for Bruce Springsteen fans as it is located on the street associated with his band.
The "Breslin War Memorial" is a memorial erected by two local business owners, Pat and Sandy Breslin, who were strong supporters of US troops during WWII. When they lost the lease on their fishing business in Belmar, they had the memorial donated to Fort Monmouth, once an active military base in Monmouth County. After Fort Monmouth closed, the memorial was relocated to its original home in Belmar and can now be visited on the 9th Avenue Pier in this beach town of New Jersey.
The Craig family’s vacant home was used as a field hospital for wounded British troops during the battle of Monmouth, June 28th, 1778.
Built in 1754, Holmes-Hendrickson House is a combination structure as it is a melding of both Georgian and Dutch architectural styles. The house blends English and Dutch elements, echoing the marriage between Dutch woman Teuntje Hendrickson and Englishman Jonathan Holmes. Passed along within the family until 1870, Holmes-Hendrickson House is a well-preserved look into the lives of a farming family in the 18th and 19th century.
The Old Ardena School House located in Howell, NJ started educating children of the community in 1835. With architecture resembling a church within its 15x16 feet frame, the single room school house taught students of a wide range of ages and abilities under one roof. Located in what was primarily a rural area, education opportunities were limited, and students had to pay the teacher in order to attend. Today, students from the modern school district visit the Old Ardena School House Museum to see how children were educated over a century ago.
The Silverball Museum Arcade, opened in 2010, is where people of all ages can play historical pinball games dating from the 1930s - 1990s, and learn about their evolution along the way.
The Hermitage is a historic house museum located in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey. This home is on the National Register of Historic Places and has 18th century architecture. It has a deep history embedded into it from the time of the Revolutionary War, as New Jersey played many roles during this war. It is noteworthy that George Washington visited this home during the war in 1778, along with Alexander Hamilton. It is also significant that Theodosia Prevost, the wife who lived in the home, was remarried to Aaron Burr after her husband’s death.

The Twin Lights Lighthouse in Highlands, NJ is a non-operational lighthouse and museum that overlooks Sandy Hook Bay, the entrance to the New York Harbor, and the Atlantic Ocean. These beacons are located an astonishing 246 feet (75 m) above sea level! While a lighthouse has existed on the site since 1828, the current structures date to 1862. Twin Lights is listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places.
