Introduction
Text-to-speech Audio
The Coast Guard Heritage Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the Coast Guard and its predecessors—the Revenue Cutter Service and the U. S. Life-saving Service. It also features exhibits on military history and lighthouses. It was established in 2005 and is located in a former US Customs House and post office. The museum features numerous artifacts such as uniforms, ship models and items used in lighthouse such as brass oil items. There is also a village smithy and Blacksmith's shop, and the oldest wooden jail in America, which was built in the 1600s.
