Located on the Baylor University campus, the Martin Museum of Art features a large collection of around 1,300 works of art spanning several centuries. Notable artists represented in the collection include Francisco de Goya, Edouard Léon Cortès, Michael Frary, Kermit Oliver, Albrecht Durer, and John James Audubon.

Backstory and Context

The collection also includes 227 watercolors painted by 60 artists in the 1930s and 1940s. They represent the movement known as the California School of Watercolor. Other notable items at the museum include African sculpture, Japanese woodblocks, and ceremonial shields from Papua New Guinea. The museum offers both permanent and traveling exhibits.
