This driving tour of historic homes begins at one of the oldest homes in the city and the iconic home of Colonel James Clinton Blood. The tour includes nearly two dozen homes, including the former home of James Naismith and the home of influential Kansas University chancellor Frank Strong, as well as a stately Gilded Era home built by a wealthy merchant that is known locally as "The Castle." The tour includes landmark homes affiliated with Quantrill's Raid, Bleeding Kansas, and the development of Lawrence and the University of Kansas.
