4. Inner Dome/Belly @ Beauregard

Side one: Inner Dome - Mike Winland. This piece is inspired by the interior view of the rotunda at the Charleston Capitol building. Side two: Belly @ Beauregard - Stacy Parker. This work depicts the Saint Mary and Archangel Gabriel Coptic Orthodox Church of West Virginia, located on Beauregard Street.

5. Boy with Dog/Porch

Side one: Boy with Dog - Bernice Deakins. Side two: Porch - Kelly Bryant.

6. Gentleman/Riverfront

Side one: Gentleman - Devin Fields. Side two: Riverfront - Don Brogan. This section of riverfront is inspired by the view of downtown Charleston from across the Kanawha River.

7. Lightning

Lightning - Rob Cleland. Earl “Lightning” Harvey was a Charleston personality known for his mathematical talent. Harvey was even featured in Ripley’s Believe it Or Not in 1936 thanks to his skills. This image is based on a picture of Harvey captured by J. Waters shortly before Harvey’s death in 1989.

Side one: Deireadh Thoir - Isaac Emrick. Deireadh Thoir is Irish for “East End.” Side two: FestivALL - Eric Holstine.

Description

This tour serves as a virtual catalogue of the StreetWorks public art display. This outdoor gallery extended for over a mile along Washington Street East. Included works were vinyl on metal and affixed to lampposts. The pieces were installed from 2012 until 2020 and can no longer be viewed in person. This tour mirrors a tour by Charleston's Office of Public Art and was made with the office's cooperation. To learn more visit: http://publicartcharleston.org/.
